"Made in America" Made America

Three of the most important words in America’s history …

Made in America

Those three simple words provided both the foundation and backbone to build the greatest nation the world has known.

But what meaning do those three words carry with them today?  Devotion, Community, Hard work, Family, Pride, Craftsmanship and both doing the right things and doing things right.

All of which have helped shape and make America and why there is such strong meaning behind the term MADE in AMERICA.

When one reads “Made in America” – whatever the product - one expects it to exude those terms that also Made America!  It should be fashioned with the finest craftsmanship by devoted hands determined to offer their friends and family the finest of products.  It should be head and shoulders above the cheaply, mass-produced products you find on the big box store shelves.  It should be solid, strong and built to last.  It also solidifies and strengthens the local community

Locally, we are blessed with a community that epitomizes the above and we would love to share some our favorite finds with others that enjoy such wonderful workmanship.

Whatever the product, the Amish community are second to none when it comes to keeping the spirit of Made in America alive today!

Whether you choose one of our quality Made in America offerings or not, supporting “Made in America” in your home will ensure quality craftsmanship for your family and friends to be enjoyed for years, even generations.

5 Flavors & A Millenia of Benficial Use in 1

The Schisandra Berry

This bright red berry is not only beautiful to behold, but also beautiful in its health benefits.  Utilized for over 2,000 years in traditional Chinese herbal medicine, Schisandra is still relatively unknown in western cultures.

The Chinese name for Shisandra, Wu Wei Zi literally means "five flavored fruit" and is a good starting point in opening up the world of this wonderful berry.
When consumed, you can literally taste all five flavors at once (sour, bitter, sweet, spicy and salty). This relates to the essence of all five of the elemental energies (wood, fire, earth, metal and water), and therefore addresses the five major organ systems of the body. Schizandra also develops the primary energies of life by addressing all three of "The Three Treasures"

A powerhouse of antioxidants and so much more, Schisandra Berry is used today by herbalists for many different things including protecting the liver, reducing the urinary incontinence and night sweats, nourishing the adrenal and improving concentration and memory.
The Skin is sweet, the flesh is sour, there is bitterness and acridity in the kernel. [Yet] all [of its parts]contain saltiness.” With such a broad array of flavors, wu wei zi is effective on many fronts, yet the dominance of the sour and salty flavors leads it to act primarily on the kidneys and lungs. This clinically translates into an ability to collect and retain (astringe) fluids.

Schisandra is also an adaptogen - strengthening the hypothalamic/pituitary/adrenal (HPA) axis and normalizing endocrine, nervous system and immune activity.  To qualify as an adaptogen, an herb must be completely safe and non-toxic, it must have broad uses for health, and it must specifically reduce stress - both mental and physical.

While this only touches the surface of this "SuperBerry", it clear that this five-flavored beauty is also a powerhouse full of time-tested natural health benefits.  We are not only proud to offer Schisandra Berry single liquid extract tinctures and formulas, but the entire Natural Hope Herbals product line.

Natural Hope Herbals are all handmade in small batches and packaged and labeled in a professional facility. Processes based on traditional knowledge and scientific research, are used to ensure Natural Hope Herbals products contain a broad spectrum of the herb's natural goodness. Natural Hope uses specific processes and menstruums to best extract the properties of each unique herb.
